WCN cooling towerWCN cooling tower WCN Cooling Towers are the result of extensive research, development and testing. The high-performance, reliable and cost-effective components, designed at state of the art technology results in an excellent cooling tower line you can rely on.

WCN Cooling Towers are designed according international industrial standards. The structure is lightweight and extremely rigid. The tower is equipped standard with an industrial low noise axial fan. The drive sets can be chosen from V-belt drive, direct gear drive or angled gear drive with the motor outside the air stream. Structural materials used are SST 304 and FRP pultrusions, with PVC or ABS fills and eliminators. The water is distributed with tangential non-clogging nozzles. The installation is fast and easy. WCN towers do meet a field performance test according CTI STD 105 or DIN 1947 field test protocol.

WCN Series Cooling Towers are specially designed for Air-Conditioning and Industrial applications. We warrant the thermal performances and the maximum service life of our products.

WCN-Series:
The WCN Series are highly reliable and efficient cooling tower products. The WCN Series are compact modular Counter Flow Top Discharge Cooling towers, with a reach from 150 to 1800 Tons of Water (m3/h), or 660 to 8000 GMP. The integrated fan and drive unit assures ascetic design and optimal performance of the cooling tower units. The cost-effective construction minimizes installation cost and reduces down time due to efficient engineering. Modern materials make our products weight less.

Every WCN cooling tower supplied achieves the required temperatures at the critical climatological conditions, stated in the design conditions. WACON follows the common design criteria for evaporative cooling. WACON produces high efficient infill in PVC and PP brand name infill, tested by popular institutes in Asia, Europe and the USA. Therefore WACON Cooling Tower products provide always the coldest water possible.
WACON assures that the published capacities and operating data are reliable. Any on-site thermal performance testing (e.g. CTI 105 or DIN 1947) can be executed.

Energy efficient:
Due to the most efficient air to water ratio, in combination with the honeycomb lined infill and low-noise high performance axial fans we generate high air volumes. The cylindrical body and the bell shaped fan exhaust create a minimum pressure drop where we can operate a lower motor power and a dramatically increased tower performance.

Noise:
Due to the well-engineered efficient tomahawk fan we move large air volumes at low fan speed. This results in lower noise levels, which meet in general the specifications required. Durability. The application of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics in combination with galvanized steel or stainless steel parts makes this tower extremely durable. Our products withstand UV radiation, chemical erosion and thermal shocks.

Modularity:
The WCN Cooling Tower Series are easy to install and easy to expand in capacity by adding extra towers. A number of smaller units mean safer operations at shut down, small circuit breakers and motors instead of single large piece of equipment.

Warranty:
WACON WCN Series Cooling Towers are warranted against defective material and workmanship for a period of 1 year after delivery. The FRP parts are warranted for a period of 5 years.

COMPONENTS:

Water pan:
The water pan is manufactured in rigid moulded hand layup FRP sectional parts for easy installation to ensure long life and durability. Standard pan accessories shall be included, like an inlet flange with strainer, drain socket and overflow socket. The pan is designed to hold a minimum required water volume for low operation weight and easy maintenance. Vital points are designed with a slope for full and easy drainage. Our standard color is light grey/gray, equal to RAL 7035, but can be changed upon request.

Casing section:
The casing panels are manufactured in rigid FRP sectional panels for long life and durability. The panels totally cover the infill section. The casing will always protect the infill from direct atmospheric contact. Our standard color is light grey/gray, equal to RAL 7035, but can be changed upon request.

Fan bell section:
The fan bell is venture shaped with an inlet radius for optimal fan performance. Our standard color is light grey/gray, equal to RAL 7035, but can be changed upon request.

Motor:
The motor we will chose a motor based on client's specification and power rating. Insulation will be a minimum of IP 55, the enclosure F5 with enclosed ball bearings and a service factor of > 1.12. For direct drive fans, the motor will be installed on a rigid motor support. If driven by a V-belt reducer, the complete drive set is installed on a rigid motor support with V-belt spanner slide.

Fan:
Our highly efficient axial propeller fan will be capable of heavy duty and statically balanced. The fans are an industrial type Class -A- brand to ensure capacity. The fans are manufactured of rolled plate aluminum and a casted aluminum hub. The aluminum hub has a key lock or taper-lock for easy repairs and so each fan blade can be individually adjusted. The fan will be installed in a closely fitted cone with a venturi air inlet for maximum fan efficiency. If required, the fan cone shall be covered with a heavy gauge steel wire fan guard to improve safety.

Stainless steel parts:
All steel parts are of Stainless Steel 304L

FRP:
All structural FRP (fiberglass reinforced polyester/plastic) parts shall be in pultrutions and in combination with SST 304 fixtures and boltry.

Fan drive unit:
V-Belt drives < 37 kW / 50 HP:
The fan shaft drive is a multi-groove, solid back V-belt with a key lock designed for 1.5 service factor of the motor power. The pulleys are made of industrial grade casted iron. The belt material is neoprene reinforced with polyester cord, specially made for humid cooling tower conditions. A hinged protective cover in FRP protects the drive from atmospheric impact and indemnifies a safe environment while inspecting the running tower. Belt adjustments are done by sliding the motor frame till the right tension is reached. The fan shaft is chromated carbon steel for corrosion protection. The bearings in the fan shaft assembly are of the heavy duty self aligning ball type. Bearing lubrication shall be not required. Bearings are designed for a minimum life time of 50.000 hours. All drive equipment is manufactured in casted steel and protected with epoxy coating, at least 250 μm.

The shafts are of chromated carbon steel for corrosion protection. The bearings in the fan shaft assembly are of the heavy duty self aligning ball type. The crown wheels are asynchronous in shape and run in an oil bath for the quietest operation and bearing lubrication will never be required. Bearings are designed for a minimum life time of 50.000 hours. All drive equipment is manufactured in casted steel and protected with an epoxy coating of at least 250 μm.

Standard geared drives with shaft 37 to 160 kW 200 HP:
The shafts are of chromated carbon steel with for corrosion protection. The bearings in the fan shaft assembly are of the heavy duty self aligning ball type. The crown wheels are asynchronous in shape and run in an oil bath for the quietest operation and bearing lubrication will never be required. Bearings are designed for a minimum life time of 50.000 hours. All drive equipment is manufactured in casted steel and protected with epoxy coating, at least 250 μm. The shaft will either be in carbon steel or composite FRP with SST 316 hardware.

Heat exchange infill:
Streamline X17 Filmfill:
This cooling tower fill is made of PVC or ABS, cross fluted film type design X-17 for optimum heat transfer efficiency. The fill thickness is least 250 μm. The film is self-extinguishing for fire resistance and has a flame spread rating of 5 per ASTM E84-81a. It is also resistant to rot, decay and biological attack. The fill is able to withstand standard operating temperatures of 55º Celsius for PVC and 75ºC for ABS.

CentraFill 100/135:
This cooling tower fill operates a combination of film and splash features for an optimal heat exchange. The profiles and the distance holders are in POM Nylon for long usage and cleaning replacement options, manufactured by the cooling tower manufacturer for single source and responsibility. The CentraFill is stack able and is assembled at the cooling tower site without any tooling or glue. CentraFill can handle clean and contaminated waters, such as effluent/influent streams, without clogging or heat transfer loss. Maximum operation temperature continuously is 80ºC.

Water distribution system:
The cooling tower has an internal piping system in PVC / ABS or FRP with inlet flanges, which divides the water equally over the wet section. The fill will be watered by a sufficient number of StreamLine non clogging spray nozzles. The nozzles are manufactured by the cooling tower supplier for single source and responsibility.

Drift eliminators:
The CentraDeck drift eliminators are in PVC or ABS with a labyrinth design to avoid water droplets leaving the tower via the exhaust air stream. The efficiency of the drift eliminator is at least < 0.005% of the circulating water volume.

Air inlet louvers:
The air inlet louvers are of durable FRP, in sections and easily removable.
